White Collar - Season 2, Episode 16 - Under the Radar

White Collar Season 2 Episode 16 - Under the Radar

Neal finally gets to confront the man behind Kate's death and finds out the truth about one of the history's biggest mysteries.

Full Recap
Neal is struggling as he carries a large cardboard box down the street, Peter strolling casually at his side. Neal complains about the weight of the box, but Peter tells him that he probably doesn't complain when he's lugging laser cutters and borescopes are. Neal counters that "When cracking safes, I have a sense of purpose." At a look from Peter, he corrects himself. "Had – had a sense of purpose." Peter says brightly, "Well, now you have a new purpose! Carting these Rolex knock-offs to evidence!"

As Peter and Neal enter the office, Sara is standing at Neal's desk – she has made a discovery. Peter goes to assemble the team as Sara asks to speak to Neal alone. As Peter leaves, Neal looks at her expectantly, but all she says is, "You look well." Relieved, he tells her that she does, too, and compliments her hairdo as they walk towards the employ conference room. Sara confronts him about their steamy kiss in the archives, leaving Neal to stutter, "Well, it was . . ." "Hot. It was hot!" finishes Sara with a smile. Neal deliberately misunderstands her. "Yeah, it was hot – back in the stacks, no A/C – it was like being back in college." "You never went to college," Sara reminds him, but he assures her that he did a lot of research. Peter, Jones and Diana are watching Sara and Neal studying a document with their heads close together, and speculatively, Diana inquires, "When did that happen?"

In the team meeting, Peter tells the team they have a chance to take down Vincent Adler, and describes Adler's billion-dollar Ponzi scheme. Sara has determined that Adler is looking for a sunken German U-boat off the coast of New York. They don't know why, but they can use the fact that he is looking for it to track him down. As the meeting breaks up, Peter asks Jones and Diana to search for another lead – Alex Hunter. Jones and Diana roll their eyes and mutter, "Yeah, we already know Alex," they say, with a meaningful look at Neal. Sara picks up on the not-so-subtle byplay, and when they are alone, she teases Neal. He admits that "calling her an acquaintance might have been an understatement," but Sarah assures him that he owes her no explanations – she, too, has lived a life, but if there is anything between them, to please not lie to her. "I would never lie to you," declares Neal, smiling. "Yes, you would," says an unsmiling Sara. "So – Alex." "Over – a long time ago," Neal assures her. They arrange to meet the next day at one o'clock for lunch at his place.

At Neal's apartment, Mozzie is fiddling with the fractal antenna attached to a computer. Peter, Neal and Mozzie speculate as to what might be on the U-boat – Mozzie suggests plutonium, or Hitler clones. As Mozzie waits for the antenna to warm up, Peter notices an Art Deco- style painting of the Chrysler Building that Neal has painted in electric blues and oranges, "to keep up my technique." Mozzie tells them that the antenna will only work if they are very close to the U-boat, because the SOS signal from the boat would be week after 50 years. Peter thinks that Alex may have a better idea exactly where the boat is, but Neal has been unable to reach her. Calling her again, he's shocked when Adler answers Alex's phone. He tells Neal that he has Alex and to "call off his dogs." Neal him that he can't do that, and Adler replies, "Neither can I," and hangs up.

At the office, Diana theorizes that Alex is working with Adler, but Neal disagrees. Peter cautions them that they can't make any assumptions, but feels that if they find Alex, they'll find Adler. Neal has Mozzie ask around, and discover that Alex was in town two weeks previously trying to pawn off silver through Ted Eames. Neal is surprised – Eames is pretty small-time. Neal comes up with a scheme to approach Eames with the fake Rolexes. The next day, Mozzie and Neal approach Eames with the watches, but are "surprised" by a police raid. Using some sleight of hand, Eames and Neal trade the fake Rolex back and forth, appearing to keep Eames clean of stolen goods. Winning Eames' confidence, Eames tells Neal that the last time he saw Alex, she was heading to the conservatory gardens.

The security cameras at the gardens show Alex going in, but not coming out, although the side gates have no cameras. Peter and Neal separate and begin to search the garden for clues. Peter loses Neal, but when his cell rings, it's Adler. Warily, Peter pulls out his gun, but Adler tells him to "holster your gun and get in the car." A dark limo is on the curb – the door swings open, and Neal is inside, with a trapped look on his face. Peter enters the car, and is confronted by one of Adler's men. Adler is in the front seat, and greets them. He forces Peter to unlock Neal's anklet, and then makes them drink a glass of tea with knock-out drops mixed in. They pass out.

Neal wakes up muzzily to Alex's concerned face. As he regains consciousness, Adler enters and, opening the windows, they see a U-boat in a warehouse – Adler has found it. As they walk out to examine it, Adler explains that it was scuttled near the end of the war. It turns out that one of the crewmen on the boat was his father. He needs Neal because, when the boat was scuttled, it was armed with explosives in case anyone came along later and tried to enter it. Neal asks Adler what he will do if he refuses, but Adler taunts him: Neal may tell himself he'd doing it to protect Peter and Alex, but Adler knows that Neal is just as curious as he is to see what is on the boat.

The hatch has been cleverly rigged with an old Enigma machine attached to dynamite. Peter and Neal struggle to defuse it, but accidently trip the timer, starting it off. They can't possibly guess the correct Enigma combination, but Alex suggests using "MIDAS", a word suggested by a story that her grandfather use to tell about a king who had a golden touch. Her grandfather was also the radio operator who received the U-boat's final SOS signal. Neal types it in, and it disarms the bomb.

Meanwhile, Sara arrives at Neal's apartment for lunch and is surprised to find only Mozzie. After exchanging some friendly banter, they realize that Neal is uncharacteristically late. Alarmed, they contact the FBI. Diana checks Neal's anklet, only to find that Peter's key removed it at the conservatory garden. She tells Sara that they will stop by and pick up Sara and Mozzie to begin searching for Peter and Neal.

Open the hatch, Neal and Peter carefully climb into the U-boat, and discover a fabulous treasure trove of art and antiquities that had been collected by the Nazis during World War II. Neal declares that it is worth billions of dollars. "It has to be the greatest collection of art that has ever been found!" he says in delight. Poking around, they discover the SOS transmitter that Mozzie can use to find them. Neal secrets it. Adler joins them, and now that Neal has served his purpose, he, Peter and Alex are no longer needed. Adler and his assistants lead them away and they are drugged again.

Diana and Jones have picked up Mozzie and Sara in a panel truck, and Mozzie's computer antenna suddenly picks up the U-boat's signal. Curiously, it is moving. Mozzie gives directions toward the source of the signal.

Neal, Peter and Alex regain consciousness. They are tied with plastic ties and chained to cement blocks at the bottom of a strange pit. Neal realizes that it is an empty ship dry dock. However, Adler's men are turning on the water, and the dry dock begins to fill with water. Frantically, they look for a way to escape. Luckily, Alex has a blade hidden in her bra. Neal uses his teeth to extract it, and moments later, they are free. As they climb out of the dry dock, Adler's men spot them and begin shooting. Luckily, Jones and Diana arrive at just that time, and capture them. Neal turns to Alex, thanks her and gives her a lingering kiss. Looking up, he sees Sara staring at him, wide-eyed, standing beside an uncomfortable-looking Mozzie. Sara turns away.

Back at the office, they are going over what they know in the conference room – it is assumed by now that Adler knows that they have escaped. Alex volunteers the information that Adler was planning to ship the treasure back to Europe at the end of the week, so Peter decides that since they have a bit of time, he and Neal should go home and get some rest. Alex describes the building they were held in, and Peter tells the team to concentrate on looking for that type of building, with a buoy nearby.

As Neal is wrapping things up, Sara approaches Alex and begins chatting. Jones alerts Neal to the fact that his ex and his current at now talking, and offers to be his "wing man", which Neal turns down. Neal "casually" wanders over to the girls. Sara wanders away, and Alex tells Neal the story of the sub, and how her grandfather had encoded the signal of the SOS into the music box; however, after Germany lost the war, he fled to the U.S. and the music box was lost. On his deathbed, he gave Alex the key to the music box and implored her to find it. Alex tells Neal that he reminds her of the treasure: "some wonderful fantasy that's just out of reach." She leaves him with a kiss on the cheek and an admonition to "take care of yourself." Neal finds Sara and begins to apologize, but is interrupted by Peter, who insists that Neal and Sara come for dinner at his house.

At Peter's house, Sara and Neal are uncomfortably silent, in stark contrast to Peter and Elizabeth's playfulness. After dinner, as Peter and Neal are talking quietly, Elizabeth chats with Sara, and admits that while she does worry about Peter, "I knew who he was when I fell in love with him." "You never tried to change that?" inquires Sara, and Elizabeth is surprised. "No – why would I?" and assures Sara that "for better or worse" has actually turned out for the better. "Do you trust Neal?" Sara asks Elizabeth. "Neal is a lot of things," muses Elizabeth, "but when it counts – you can trust him." Peter and Neal see Elizabeth and Sara deep in conversation, and when Neal wonders what they are talking about, Peter assures him that they are talking about Neal. "Me?" says Neal in surprise. "Boy, do you have a lot to learn about women," declares Peter, and goes on to tell Neal that he feels like the luckiest guy. "That's not who I am," says Neal. "You just have to figure it out," Peter assures him. "And when you do, you'll be the luckiest guy." Later, Sara accepts Neal's apology, and reminds him that he owes her lunch.

The next day, the FBI team begins to scour the docks looking for the warehouse. Neal hears a buoy and follows it, finding a warehouse close by. As he tries to enter, he is confronted by Adler, who tells him that the art is on an 18-wheeler ready to be moved. Adler offers Neal a deal – if he gets Adler past the FBI's perimeter, Neal can have half of the treasure. "Wow – that sounds like a really good deal," says Neal, "You must think I'm an idiot." "No, I think you're an opportunist," corrects Adler. "You took everything from me," declares Neal. "Only after you tried to do the same to me!" Adler reminds him. Neal demands to know why Kate had to die. Adler tells him that the explosives on the plane were Kate's idea – he and Kate parachute out over the ocean, the plane explodes, and everyone would live happily ever after. But then she called Adler and told him that Peter had arrived and threatened to ruin everything. "So you blew up the plane early," realizes Neal. "If I had waited another thirty seconds, I would have blown you up, too," grouses Adler. "Am I supposed to be grateful?" Neal asks, and Adler tells him that Neal was the closest thing to a son he ever had. "No. I'm nothing like you," Neal assures him. Adler sneers, "There's nothing sadder than a con man conning himself," and encourages Neal to join him. Neal tells him to go to hell, and at that moment, there's an explosion from the warehouse. Neal runs up to the warehouse. "Tell me you got the TNT out!" he yells at Adler. They pry open the door, in the face of another large explosion.

Meanwhile, the explosion has caught the attention of the rest of the team, who come running up. Neal and Adler are lying on the ground, stunned. Neal recovers first, and stares at the carnage. Adler, enraged, aims his gun at Neal, accusing him of arranging for the explosion. Neal vehemently denies it, but Adler declares, "You won't get away with this." A shot rings out, and Adler falls – Peter has shot him. Neal, staring at Adler, is stunned. "He was going to kill me," he says woodenly, and Peter, wrung out, asks him, "What did he mean, 'you won't get away with this?'" "I don't know," says Neal. Diana and Jones gently lead Neal away from the fire. As Peter begins to follow, a burning fragment of a painting falls to the ground in front of him. As it catches his eye, he is startled to realize that he has seen that fragment before – it's part of the painting of the Chrysler Building Neal was painting. "Dammit, Neal!" he exclaims to himself, and runs after them. Pulling Neal aside, he accuses Neal of starting the fire. Neal earnestly assures him, "Those were masterpieces, I would never have burned them, you know that." Peter doesn't believe him. "No, but you'd steal them!" "I don't know what you're talking about," declares Neal as he turns to walk away. But Peter is convinced that Neal has somehow finished the con on Adler. "I'm not lying to you now, Peter. I didn't steal the art," repeats Neal, but Peter accuses him: "I think you did." Exasperated, Neal turns away, but before he does, he tells Peter, "Then prove it."

Neal walks into his apartment, and sees a key on top of a small envelope. The card inside the envelope is typed and reads. "77850 Ganesvoort St, Unit A, New York, NY. YOU'LL THANK ME." Curiosity piqued, we see Neal entering a large warehouse-style building. Carefully peering in, he enters, and then finds himself surrounded – by the treasure from the U-boat. Standing in the middle of the treasure, he is still for a moment before a smile breaks across his face.

White Collar Season 2 Episode 15 - Power Play

In order to unmask a collision scheme, Neal and Peter switch their identities.

Full Recap
Elizabeth is organizing a gala opening at a museum for Andrew Stanzler, a very demanding client. Stanzler visits the site and makes a change in the plans, and when Elizabeth diplomatically comments to his assistant, Brooke, that Stanzler "knows what he wants", Brooke hesitantly asks her if her husband really works for the FBI. There's a problem...

It's a record hot day in New York, and Peter is installing a window air conditioning unit, since the demands on the power have caused black-outs around the city and their central a.c. system has conked out. Elizabeth returns and when Peter asks her "how is the world's most evil man?" Elizabeth tells him that they need to talk about Stanzler. His assistant suspects that Stanzler, an energy trader, may be causing the blackouts, based on overhearing a conversation with another trader. Brooke thinks that Stanzler may be withholding supply during peak hours, and then reselling it to the city at triple the price. Peter is concerned – the blackouts have caused three deaths, and has cost New York millions of dollars. Brooke is too afraid of Stanzler's temper to come in to the FBI to discuss it, so Elizabeth suggests that Peter meet Brooke at the museum. "And bring Neal," she suggests. "Why Neal?" "Oh, honey, she's really nervous. And you know, Neal has a calming smile." Peter is unimpressed with Neal's "calming smile."

Neal runs into Sara on the street – she is back from Argentina. She had been chasing one of the crates they had found, which had been smuggled out of an Argentinian estate that was subsequently burned down. Showing Neal photos, Sara suspects that Adler had stayed there after he left the U.S., and then torched it. She talked to Rosa, who worked at the estate, who said that Adler was obsessed with finding a German soldier named Gerhard Volkner. Neal tells Sara that he will pass Sara's information on to Peter. They give each other an awkward goodbye, and after a moment's confusion, walk off in opposite directions.

At the museum, Brooke is nervous because Peter hasn't shown up yet. Neal is there, and Elizabeth anxiously asks him to check on Peter's whereabouts. A quick phone call reveals that Peter has been delayed by a traffic accident and won't be there for almost 20 minutes; meanwhile, Stanzler's out-of-town meeting has been cancelled and he is on his way to the museum, to Brooke's consternation. Peter tells Neal to keep Brooke calm at all costs. Thinking quickly, Neal strolls up to Brooke and Elizabeth and, pecking Elizabeth on the check, introduces himself as Peter. Elizabeth is startled, but plays along. "Peter" earnestly asks Brooke to please help, because if she is right, her boss is hurting a lot of people. "You can trust my husband," Elizabeth assures her, with a wary glance at "Peter." Brooke reluctantly agrees, and then goes to greet Stanzler. "Did we really just do that?" wonders Elizabeth, but Neal's more pressing question is who is going to tell Peter what they have just done.

At the office, Peter is livid. "You impersonated a Federal agent!" he exclaims. Neal is apologetic, but tells Peter that "you told me to do whatever I had to do!" "I didn't tell you to commit a Federal crime!" snaps Peter. Neal maintains that if Brooke finds out about the mistaken identity, she will be spooked and leave. Peter's phone rings; Elizabeth is downstairs with Brooke. He explains that they are going to be honest with Brooke and tell her about the switch. He gets an earful from Elizabeth, who apparently also thinks that is a bad idea. Reluctantly, he goes to the bullpen and announces that "for the next hour, and only for the next hour, you will call Mr. Caffrey 'Special Agent Peter Burke'. No questions, no laughing – just do it." The bullpen is snickering, and Peter adds, ". . . and never speak of this again!" Elizabeth and Brooke enter the office, and after a moment's awkwardness, "Peter" leans in and kisses Elizabeth on the cheek again, to Peter's dismay. Peter walks up, and Elizabeth introduces him as "Neal Caffrey." Neal and Peter are stunned and exchange looks. "Neal" introduces himself to Brooke as a consultant, "a criminal who made a lot of very bad mistakes which landed me in prison. But now, I assist the FBI." Brooke accepts this explanation and Elizabeth and Neal listen with mouths open.

In "Peter's" office, Brooke explains that Stanzler's company is a broker, and that since power is an unregulated commodity, it can be bought , hoarded, and trigger an artificial shortage. "Neal" suggests that "Peter" talk to the Commodities Trading Commission. Brooke asks to speak to "Peter" privately. "Peter" sends "Neal" for coffee, to "Neal's" chagrin. Brooke tells "Peter" that she didn't want to mention it in front of "Neal,", but she thinks that Stanzler is searching for a burglar, based on a cryptic phone conversation Stanzler had with someone named Bill Roscoe. She Googled the name and discovered that Roscoe has a record for breaking and entering – something "Peter" is already aware of. At the coffee station, Jones twits Peter about getting Neal's coffee, and Peter threatens that Jones will be getting him mocha chai lattes for the rest of the month for that crack. Diana joins them, and is delighted at the role switch – she wants to tease Neal by taking "Peter" a file. Peter takes the file on Gerhardt Vogner, but it is empty – the Department of Defense classified his information when Vogner moved to the U.S. after World War II. Since it's been more than 50 years, Peter thinks he can get it de-classified. Peter returns to his office, as Diana and Jones giggle.

Neal fills Peter in on Brooke's information. "Sounds like a job for Neal Caffrey," comments Peter, but Neal warns him that Stanzler has already "made" him, but Peter points out that he can continue playing "Neal" and find out what is going on. "I'm taking control of this case before it goes any more sideways," Peter declares, and tells Neal to have Brooke put "Neal Caffrey" on the books. Neal is skeptical that Peter can be a convincing thief.

In Neal's apartment, Mozzie is welding something. "Welding is much harder than it looks – I deserve a 'medal'" chuckles Mozzie. Neal rolls his eyes at the pun as he makes a fake FBI ID badge with his picture instead Peter's, as Mozzie goes on to describe his eBay shopping for a particular antenna. Neal grouses about the amount of paperwork needed to send someone undercover. Mozzie wonders why Peter isn't doing it, and Neal tells him that Peter has stuck him with the paperwork since he is "Peter". Mozzie cautions him against impersonating a Federal agent , "otherwise, I'll find you wearing wingtips!" Neal shows him the completed ID, and Mozzie throws up his hands in mock despair. "Too late – the metamorphosis is complete," he mourns. Peter and Sara knock on the door, and Neal quickly slips the ID into his pocket. Peter indicates the welding project and asks, "Do I want to know?" "Not yet," answers Mozzie. Peter has a DVD of why Adler is so interested in Vogner. The DVD contains some old WWII film footage, one showing Vogner as a radio operation in the Euro headquarters after the fall of the Third Reich. When he fled to the U.S., he claimed to have top secret information to share; however, he was sent to a detention center on Ellis Island, and whatever information he had disappeared with him when he escaped a few weeks later. Sara wonders what information Vogner could have that Adler would be interested in 50 years later. "I have a feeling it has something to do with the antenna that Mozzie has been building," speculates Neal, and Mozzie agrees, "That makes sense, since he was a radio guy." Peter suspects that Vogner probably just jumped into the Ellis Island line for naturalization with a fake name, and entered the country that way. He suggests a search of the immigration records from that time. Mozzie suggests that the next time Peter is poking around in classified files that he should look for information on the "death of the electric car." "And I can throw in some stuff about crop circles," says Peter sarcastically. It takes Mozzie a moment to realize Peter is mocking him.

Later, as he is leaving, Peter assures Mozzie that the U.S. government isn't conducting mind control experiments. Mozzie is unconvinced. Neal and Sara begin to walk down the street, with Neal carrying a gym back. Sara is going to dinner, Neal is going to the gym to swim. She asks him how that works with his ankle bracelet, he tells her that it's waterproof. Under his breath, he then asks her about the "guy trying to cover surveillance," and she confirms she has seen him, too: "You're talking about the man at 6 o'clock?" Neal reaches over and pulls Sara into a one-armed embrace, and Sara whispers that the surveillance man realizes that he's been seen. "So, how long do you want to stay here?" asks Neal, and Sara suggests waiting until they see his next move. He spins her around so he can see the surveillance guy, but a dark car speeds up to the curb and the man jumps into it. Neal runs towards the car, but it gets away. "You ok?" asks Neal, and Sara reassures him that she's been followed before. "Well, whoever he is – he knows you're working for us," observes Neal.

Peter and Elizabeth are going over a map of the gala and the exhibit, so that "Neal" can impress Stanzler with his understanding of the museum's security. Elizabeth observes that "it's sexy, watching you plan a heist." Peter laughs as he prepares to leave. As he begins to get into the role of "Neal" he loosens his shoulders and intones woodenly. "I'm Caffrey . . . Neal Caffrey." Elizabeth stifles a laugh. "You don't like my Neal?" asks Peter, and Elizabeth explains that Neal has a way of "pulling you in when he talks, a kind of quiet, sexy whisper." "Oh, sexy, huh?" says a disgruntled Peter, with his hands on his hips. "And he doesn't put his hands on his hips," cautions Elizabeth, "he gets people to do what he wants by charming them – he doesn't rely on a badge." As he begins to leave, Elizabeth reminds him to remove his wedding ring. Reluctantly he takes it off, commenting that "I feel naked without it." "Maybe you could wear a hat?" suggests Elizabeth, a suggestion that Peter refuses.

Brooke introduces "Neal" to Stanzler, who studies "Neal." "Neal" says, in a somewhat gravelly whisper, "I understand you're looking for anacquisition." Stanzler asks how he knows that, and "Neal" tells him that Roscoe told him. "But whatever the job is, I'm your man," declares "Neal." Stanzler scoffs that everyone in his business says the same thing, but "Neal" tells him that he could rob the museum in 20 minutes. Stanzler is skeptical – the security equipment is the best. After discussing specifics, "Neal" tells Stanzler that they should skip the display and go straight for the private collection. "How do you know about that?" demands Stanzler, and "Neal" flashes him a smile. "I told you – I'm the best."

At the office, Peter tells the team that Stanzler needs a thief to steal a flash drive from another trader named Francis Luntz. Diana wants details about the meeting, but Peter brushes her off. His theory is that Stanzler and Luntz are using their combined power to create temporary shortages. Jones wants to know if "Neal" flaunted his past crimes, but Peter ignores him. Neal is somewhat surprised: "But how did you get him to hire you?" he asks. "I'm that good," smirks Peter. Apparently, Luntz videotaped one of their meetings, and Stanzler wants to retrieve it. Diana wants to know why they don't just get a warrant, but Peter isn't sure exactly what is on the flash drive, and if it's not enough evidence, then they have burned their case. "But I do need a warrant for Luntz' home," he tells them. "I don't need a warrant to break in," interjects Nealsotto voce. "Well, this 'Neal Caffrey' does," declares Peter, as Neal waves his hand dismissively. As the team leaves, Neal tells Peter about the tail the night before. He believes it's Adler that's having Sara followed. "Everyone that's looked into him – Mozzie, Kate – they've all been hurt," Neal tells Peter. He is meeting her at the Archives, and Peter encourages him to stay close to her. Peter then goes on to tell Neal, "When we break in, I'm going to need some training . . ." Neal grins. "Gotcha covered," he assures Peter.

Peter arrives at Neal's apartment for a training session with Mozzie. At first, Mozzie invites him to take a pebble from his hand, but Peter refuses. "Kung fu?" he asks, incredulously. Mozzie then asks him for $20. Peter at first refuses, but when Mozzie asks him if he wants help or not, Peter pulls $20 out of his wallet and hands it to Mozzie. Folding it, Mozzie declares, "First lesson: We take. We never give."

Neal meets Sara outside the Archives. She is disgruntled because it may take up to four weeks to get the immigration information she needs. Neal, however, has a plan. Back at the Archives, his charm has gained the cooperation of the clerk, who goes so far as to apologize for her previously brusqueness. He flashes his "FBI badge" and they are led to the records. Neal and Sara are surprised at the number of records from 1946 that will need to be reviewed.

At Neal's apartment, Mozzie is attempting to teach "sausage fingers" Peter how to pick a lock. At a knock at the door, Mozzie looks up and announces, "Ah, our guest speaker," as June walks in carrying an old jacket and inquires, "How's he doing?" Mozzie shrugs, and June goes on to tell him, as she places the jacket, with bells attached to the bottom, on a dressmaker form, that "Byron would be so thrilled to know that his training jacket was back in the game!" She then inquires knowledgeably, "Are you teaching him to run across?" "No, scratch on dick," "With the farmer's pass?" she asks. "Eh, Neal wants to run a bird dog." "Hm. He's a fed." Peter is utterly confused at the street lingo. Mozzie has a bug that he wants Peter to place in Stanzler's pocket before the heist –t he trick is retrieving it afterwards without Stanzler realizing it. Peter attempts it a few times, always setting off the bells. "This is impossible," he grouses. Mozzie demonstrates a light, two-fingered retrieval, and June explains that the first two fingers are used as tweezers. After long practice, Peter masters the art of pickpocketing.

Neal and Sara are laboriously sifting through archive records. Sighing, Neal sets a file aside and regards Sara. "So, tell me, Repo – what's your angle on all this?" Sara tells him that if Adler spent his life looking for something, that means that the payoff has to be bigger than the billion he has already stolen. "That's all?" asks Neal. "I like the mystery," says Sara. They exchange a long look. "I know what it's like to have a lot of questions," she offers, and tells Neal that when she was 13, her sister ran away and they never heard from her again, and how she used to go to her sister's room to get some idea of what her sister had run away to. "I never found the answers I was looking for – but, if we find Adler, maybe you can have some closure with Kate." Neal is silent.

At the office, as Peter gets underway, Neal compliments Peter on learning so quickly, and, referring to Mozzie, Peter admits that "there's a very good teacher under that shiny head of his." Peter asks about the archives, and Neal says that's going to take a while. "Ah, another late night with Sara, eh?" asks Peter. Neal is nervous about Peter's heist, and begins to offer him warnings. "You don't give me the 'be careful' speech. I invented the 'be careful' speech," retorts Peter. "OK, then," shrugs Neal. "Go out there and make me look good."

Peter meets Stanzler on the corner across from June's house. Quickly, he places the bug in Stanzler's pocket, while Stanzler instructs him to enter the master bedroom and look for a drive labeled "Project Edison." Stanzler warns him that he will only have 20 minutes, total. Peter enters the Luntz mansion's courtyard in the trunk of Stanzler's car. As Stanzler goes in, Peter hops out, and quickly goes to the basement door and picks it open, and finds his way upstairs.

At the Archives, Mozzie is helping Sara with research, admitted that Vogner has earned his admiration. "He learned to work the system. One day he was here, and the next – poof!" Sara asks if Neal sent Mozzie to watch her, and he tells her indignantly that no one "sends" him anywhere. Sara is unconvinced.

Peter reaches the bedroom. Neal authoritatively tells him to "look in drawers and cabinets. People usually hide things where they are easily accessible." Diana gives him an inquiring look, and Neal hastily adds, "as Mozzie taught you." Peter finds a Centurion safe key, and Neal advises him to look for a wall safe. Peter locates the safe and the flash drive, and prepares to download the video. Meanwhile, Diana is listening to Stanzler's conversation and alerts them to a turn in the conversation: Stanzler has revealed that someone from East Coast Hydroelectric may be causing the blackouts, and who will be at the party on Saturday. Peter tells them that they will wait until Saturday and take down all three of them. He leaves the same way he came in. He hands Stanzler the flash drive, and Stanzler hands him an envelope full of money, and then asks him if he wants another job. He tells Peter to be at the museum at 5 o'clock – tell no one, ask no questions. Peter agrees.

Peter and Neal review the video tape and the plans for Saturday with the rest of the team. Diana describes how they intercepted Stanzler's suit from the cleaners and inserted a video camera in place of the lapel button to record Saturday's conversations. Jones and Diana will be in the van, and Neal will be accompanying Elizabeth, pretending to be Peter.

At the party on Saturday, Neal and Elizabeth are standing together as Stanzler walks up, muttering to Brooke that if "any of the employees drop anything, they're fired." "I see you really know how to motivate your employees," observes "Peter" dryly. Stanzler introduces "Neal" to "Peter and Elizabeth Burke", and "Neal" slyly compliments "Peter" by telling him that "you married up!" Stanzler takes "Neal" away to meet some very pretty girls, as Elizabeth mutters to Neal, "So, this is undercover work, eh?" "I'm sure he's hating every moment of it," he assures her, as they watch Peter chatting easily with the young women. Stanzler then leads Peter through a door to the displayed collection. "You donated all of this?" asks Peter. "Yeah," shrugs Stanzler, and then points out Luntz, telling Peter that his friend Francis needs to be watched – he isn't having a very good day. Stanzler leaves, and Peter walks up to Luntz. Mistaking Peter for the ECH person, Luntz tells Peter he wants nothing to do with it, it's gotten much bigger than he expected, and that he is out. Peter asks him, "Did he tell you I was Chip Wheelock?" "Yes," answers Luntz in confusion, and Peter dashes off. Luntz tells Peter that he has leverage over Stanzler, but Peter tells him that he doesn't anymore, because he took it. As they are talking, Peter is trying to exit the gallery, but all the doors are locked. He calls Jones, who tells him the doors are locked due to a security brownout. Diana rushes in and tells Elizabeth that they need the backup generator, which is downstairs. Luntz is confused – "Who do you keep talking to?" and is alarmed when Peter tells him "The FBI." Peter has figured out that, with the security brownout, Stanzler is going to evade the security cameras and circle back around and kill both Luntz and Peter. As he works at picking the lock, Neal reports that he has sighted Stanzler across the reception room, and follows him. At that moment, the museum goes into complete blackout, which locks down the galleries. Stanzler gets away from Neal, and Jones tries to describe his movements to Neal using the hidden video camera. They race to the Stanzler Gallery as Peter fumbles with the lock. Luntz urges him to hurry, but Peter tells him sarcastically, "I wasn't trained to do this in the dark!" Jones warns Peter that Stanzler has entered the gallery and has a gun. Peter and Luntz duck away in the dark, but Stanzler begins shooting into the shadows, breaking glass cases as he shoots. A moment later, the generator kicks the lights back on. Taking advantage of Stanzler's surprise, Peter leaps on him and drops him to the ground as Neal comes running in with the rest of the security staff.

Outside the museum, Neal compliments Peter: "I didn't know you had moves like that!" Peter tells Neal that "I didn't know you had an FBI badge like that." Neal explains that he needed one to be a convincing FBI agent. Peter accuses Neal of enjoying playing him, and Neal admits that there is a certain "allure" to the profession. Peter admits that being Neal Caffrey has its charms, but that he had to work a lot harder fitting into Neal's world than Neal had to work to fit into Peter's. Peter pats Neal on the shoulder and tells him "Good work!" – as he deftly lifts the ID badge from Neal's pocket. Neal walk away, and Peter is joined by Elizabeth, who hands him his wedding ring and receives a kiss. Neal watches their affectionate embrace wistfully.

Back at the archives, Neal brings Sara a foil package of finger food from the reception. Mozzie is in a corner, going through microfiches, and suddenly, the lights begin to close down – more blackouts. As Sara reaches for a flashlight, Neal leans in and begins to kiss her. The kiss quickly turns steamy, as he pushes her against the wall and urgently begins to remove her lace jacket as she quickly begins to unbutton his shirt. Mozzie is engrossed in the microfiche, seemingly unaware of the passionate embrace a few feet away. Suddenly, the lights come back on, and Neal and Sara suddenly realize their state of undress. As they are smiling at each other, Mozzie walks up, calling for Sara. As he finds them, they spring apart like guilty teenagers, clothes every which way. "Uh – hi, Neal," Mozzie greets him uncertainly, and begins to back away, but Sara calls him back, wondering what he has found. "Um – well, the urgency transcends the awkwardness," he decides, and shows them a file – he believes he has found Vogner, who apparently entered the U.S. as "Michael Hunter." "Let's go find him!" exclaims Sara, but Mozzie tells her that he died in New York the year before. His obituary shows that he had one surviving relative, his granddaughter – Alexandra Hunter. Neal and Mozzie exchange an enlightened look.

Alex Hunter is walking a dark street, and telling someone on a cell phone that she is headed towards the location now, and is on her way. As she moves down the street, we see that she is being followed purposefully by a man in a dark hoodie.

White Collar Season 2 Episode 14 - Payback

Matthew Keller, Neal's imprisoned rival, contacts Neal and Peter to make a deal. However, the two have to realize Keller set them up to kidnap Peter and to force Neal to bargain with Jason Lang, Keller's former partner turned adversary.

Full Recap
Peter's boss Hughes informs Peter, Neal and Diana that Neal's old rival Matthew Keller, they put behind bars and who just was sentenced to 20 years, contacted the Department of Justice claiming he has information critical to national security. Though they doubt Keller has real information, Hughes wants them to talk to Keller who specifically asked for Neal and Peter.

Peter and Neal visit Keller in prison. After starting a new game of chess with Neal, Keller tells them that he wants to make a deal because he doesn't want to be moved to Barksdale. It's not only less comfortable, but also a problem because of the imprisoned Russian mob there because Keller has a seven-figure debt with them. Keller offers them information on a maker of forged passports in Caffrey quality in exchange for staying in his current cell. Keller's transfer is already scheduled, but Peter promises to see what he can do if Keller's information pans out. Keller appreciates Peter's candor and tells them to look up Jason Lang.

When Peter gets ready to leave home for work, he gets angry with himself when realizes he forgot to pick up the dry cleaning the other night. He never wanted to become that kind of husband. It upsets him even more that Elizabeth picked the cry cleaning herself assuming he would forget about it anyways. Even though she tells him it's okay, he wants her to criticize him. Halfhearted, She gives in which scares their dog Satchmo. They stop their fight without resolving it.

Neal meets with Mozzie to discuss Keller's motives. Mozzie wants to know if they can trust Peter not to keep Keller at Hawthorne, his current location, an Neal tells him that Keller's transfer is scheduled later that day. Anyways, Neal is on his way to the FBI office to check out the information Keller gave them. Mozzie is worried Keller could once again use Kate to get to Neal, but Neal assures him that he is over Kate and that the information about forged passports won't keep Keller at Hawthorne.

At the office, Peter shows Neal what he found out. The name Keller gave them, Jason Lang, belongs to a forger turned photographer. He is also Keller's former partner who shot Keller when their job went south. Neal wants to move on to the next case, but Peter tells him that their boss Hughes still wants them to check out Jason Lang.

On their way to Lang, the two get to talk about Peter's fight with Elizabeth that morning. Peter is disappointed with himself that he has become a constant disappointment for his wife. He adds that he didn't call her "hon" that morning which is their abbreviation for "I love you." Neal suggests to call Elizabeth right away to say "hon" to her, and Peter agrees to do so after they visited Lang.

Peter and Neal enter Lang's studio and interrupt Lang's photo session to talk to him about the passport forgeries. When Lang receives a phone call, Neal tells Peter that Lang owns just the right equipment to forge American passports which will be enough to get a search warrent. When Peter wants to question Lang about his equipments, Lang runs. Peter tells Neal to stay there while he chases after Lang. Neal doesn't stay but runs out to cut Lang's way off. However, Neal is too late to help and has to watch Peter run into a setup. One of Lang's men holds Peter at gunpoint while Lang tells him to drop his cell and his weapon and to get into the waiting van. The van takes off and Peter's cell starts ringing. Neal takes the call. It's Keller who tells Neal to play or Peter will die.

Lang and his men put Peter in a cell they built into a warehouse. When Lang and Peter are alone, Peter tries to convince Lang to make a deal with him, but Lang tells him he trusts Keller more than an agent because he has seen too many agents coming into his life and making his life harder than it is. When Peter tries to tell him that Keller is just using him and he will probably end up in prison or dead, Lang gets angry and shoots a mannequin and tells him "no more deals."

Meanwhile, Neal visits Keller in prison. Keller wants Neal to pay off his debt with the Russians after Peter did not stop the transfer. He owes them $2.5 million and Neal has to tell him he doesn't have the money anymore. However, Keller reminds Neal that he acquired something that valuable a few years ago and gives him three hours to find it before he is transfered. After his conversation with Keller, Neal calls Diana to tell her what happened to Peter.

Hughes gives orders to do all they can to find Peter, then he asks Neal about Keller's motives. Neal tells him that Keller is behind Peter's kidnapping and that he asked for $2.5 million to pay off the Russians. However, Hughes informs Neal that they don't negotiate with kidnappers and that they will get to Lang and Keller eventually. They also know that Keller wants to stay at Hawthorne, but since it's one of his requests, they arranged his transfer nevertheless. Hughes asks Diana to stay with Neal and then he assures Neal that they will bring Peter home safely if he lets them do their job.

When he has left the meeting, Neal receives a call from Mozzie who tells him someone called him to give him place and time for a meeting. Neal asks Mozzie to meet him with a hammer at Madison Square Park in half an hour. Before he ends the call, Neal watches Elizabeth enter the office.

Hughes tells Elizabeth that they all the agents are looking for her husband before he excuses himself. When he is gone, Elizabeth asks Neal about Keller. Neal tells her that Keller is a chess player who would have thought about the manhunt that is going down right now. So she asks Neal to do whatever there is to do to bring Peter back.

When Diana is walking Neal home, she is unhappy to find out that Neal has planned another stop, but Neal convinces her that he has to play along with Keller to get a lead on Peter so she agrees to give Neal an hour.

Neal meets with Mozzie in the park. He tells Mozzie it's the place where Kate and he used to come and reveals that he was planning to propose to Kate. Then he takes one of the hammers Mozzie brought and gets the engagement ring he hid on the finger of one of the statues there. Mozzie recognizes the ring which is worth enough to pay off Keller's Russian mob. Neal reveals he was holding on to it because he didn't want to lose hope. Mozzie asks him if he really wants to give the ring away, but Neal tells him that "keeping Peter alive is more important than holding a candle for someone who isn't."

Meanwhile, Peter who is handcuffed discovers the safety pin from the dry cleaning. He carefully takes the pin and tries to unlock his handcuffs. One of Lang's men comes in to tell Lang that Neal is on his way to the exchange. Lang asks if he talked to Ridgefield and his man answers that the transfer's in motion. Before Lang leaves, Peter asks him about Ridgefield who happens to be the security firm that's responsible for Keller's transfer. Peter figures that they will use whatever Neal gives them to pay off Ridgefield to let Keller escape during the transfer. However, Lang tells Peter that he doesn't care that Peter overheard them and Peter realizes they are going to kill him.

Mozzie goes to see Elizabeth. He tells her that Neal is striking a deal to get Peter home. Before he leaves, he leaves Elizabeth a listening device so she can hear what the agents who are stationed in her house hear when they hear it and doesn't have to wait for them to tell her.

Neal meets with Lang to make the exchange. However, Neal wants a proof of life before he gives Lang the ring. He even walks away from the table, until Lang gives in and allows Neal to ask Peter one question he will text his accomplice who will text them Peter's answer. Neal asks for the cellphone number he was using the first time Peter caught him. After Peter's answer, Neal hands over the ring.

After the exchange, Neal meets again with Diana who is upset he gave them the ring, but didn't get Peter. Meanwhile, Neal uses the numbers Peter gave him to decrypt a Peter's message which says "no transfer." Diana calls Jones who is with the transfer immediately to tell him about Peter's warning. However, when Jones radios the drivers, they start the escape. Keller and his accomplice get away.

After Lang has returned, Peter tries once again to unsettle him and tries to convince Lang that Keller will turn against him. He gets Lang angry who gets near the cell and when Peter has opened his handcuffs with the help of the pin, he quickly runs to Lang and knocks him out.

At the office, Hughes tells Diana and Neal off for making an exchange against his order. Before Neal leaves the office, Jones receives a call from Peter who got to Lang's cellphone. He asks for Neal to help him escape the cell before Lang wakes up or Keller arrives. Neal tells him how to short the power on the locking mechamism using his cellphone battery. When Peter is about to proceed, they locate the cellphone and Hughes tells him to stay on the line until the team arrives. However, Lang slowly regains consciousness and Peter disconnects the phone. A few moments later, Peter calls back. He got out and is holding Lang at gunpoint.

They arrive at Peter's location and take Lang into custody. Unfortunately, Keller didn't show. Peter wants to give Neal the ring back, but before he hands it over, he asks if it was stolen. Neal replies it was never reported stolen, but admits that it doesn't belong to him and suggests that Peter contacts the Scotland Royal Museum about it.

Outside the building, Elizabeth already waits for Peter. Meanwhile, Keller calls Neal to tell him he saw the surprise party, but couldn't make it. He adds he couldn't have escaped without his help and suggests to call it a draw. Before he hangs up, he tells Neal that he is starting to sound like a lawman.

White Collar Season 2 Episode 13 - Countermeasures

Neal's landlady June is visited by an old friend of her late husband. Byron's friend just got out of prison, but Neal suspects he hasn't given up his criminal path.

Full Recap
Neal meets with Mozzie to ask him about the construction of their treasure map. Mozzie is making progress as he tries to stay as close to the original design as possible.

When Neal comes home, he finds a stranger in June's house. June introduces him as Ford, an old friend of hers who just moved back to Manhattan. Generous as June is, she made a few donations to Ford's new apartment and wants to show him a few more jackets. Ford notices that Neal is wearing one of Byron's suits. Before he leaves with June, Neal asks him about his connection to Byron and learns that the two worked together. Then Ford throws to Neal the coin he was playing with and follows June.

At the FBI office, Neal asks Diana to run the prints from the coin to find out who that Ford guy is because he suspects Ford is up to something.

Elizabeth and Peter come home from the vet after Satchmo swallowed one of Peter's handcuff keys. Peter thinks his dog feels guilty about the incident, but Elizabeth corrects him that it was his fault letting the keys lay open and makes him apologize to Satchmo. Peter asks Elizabeth out for lunch, but before she can agree, Peter's phone rings. It's Diana who wants to show him what the print Neal asked her to run turned up.

Back at the office, Peter tells Neal that Diana red-flagged a murder suspect named Jonas Ganz when she ran the print he gave her. However, when Neal looks at the file himself, he is surprised to see that Jonas Ganz is not the guy he met in June's house.

Neal and Peter are still discussing how the only print on that coin belongs to someone else than Ford when Jones joins them to announce he found a connection between them. Ford whose real name is Bradford Tullman was a cellmate of Jonas Ganz. Ford's file reveals his connection to Byron. About 20 years ago, Byron and Ford were arrested for running a rooftop casino where Neal lives now. However, Neal still wonders why they didn't find Ford's print. Peter asks Jones to talk to Ganz's probation worker and to tell Diana to keep an eye on him.

Soon later, Diana takes pictures of Ganz who seems to gather a crew.

When Neal comes home, June is in his apartment to get an old photo album that Ford wants to see. Neal looks at the pictures and notices June, Byron and Ford go way back. June adds they were inseparable back then. When they come to the photo that shows the three in front of the Lenox Lounge, June notes that Byron looked so good in that particular suit and even Ford asked if she still had it. When she has left to show Ford the photo album, Neal goes to his wardroom to examine that suit from the photo and finds a receipt in one of the pockets, but the writing has vanished. Ford knocks on his door to set the record straight. June has told him about Neal's past and he hopes Neal understands him. June interrupts to ask Neal to join them for dinner that evening. When she has left, Ford reveals he is looking for second chance, and Neal answers he is glad because he thought Ford was looking for something else.

Neal meets with Mozzie to hand him the receipt he suspects Ford came looking for. Mozzie promises to try to make it more legible and agrees to hang around the house for a few days to make sure June is ok. Peter calls to tell Neal that Ganz is putting a crew together. He wants to talk to Ford. Neal tells him Ford won't go to the office and suggests Elizabeth and Peter join their dinner that evening, but Peter turns Neal's idea down. He doesn't want to take his wife to a covert interrogation and tells Neal to find another way. As soon as he has hung up, Neal uses another way and calls Elizabeth to invite them to dinner.

Elizabeth and Peter joins them for dinner. After the meal, June and Neal sing to Ford playing the piano and Elizabeht embarrasses Peter when she reveals the two of them took a Salsa class and Neal asks for some pictures to show them to the guys at the office. Peter takes his chance when the others are distracted to tell Neal that he is losing his patience and that they have to find the link, but Neal's phone interrupts them.

Neal leaves the room to take the call. It's Mozzie who made the writing on the receipt legible again. The receipt is for a walnut leather coffee table which Neal recognizes as the table in Byron's study. Mozzie adds that the receipt also revealed additional charges about a modification on the table.

June takes the photo album, and before Ford can put it away, Peter gives Elizabeth a look who understands and asks to take a look. June, Elizabeth and Peter sit down to look at the photos which makes Ford slightly uncomfortable. Meanwhile, Neal examines the table from the receipt and finds a hidden compartment that holds a printing plate of an old U.S. $100 bill. When he hears footsteps, he quickly hides the printing plate again and leaves the room. Ford is coming upstairs and explains he is looking for Byron's record collection. Neal sends him to Byron's library and looks for Peter to show him what he found.

In the study, Neal shows Peter the hidden compartment, but the plate is gone. They figure Ford got it and head downstairs, but Elizabeth finds them first to tell them Ford just caught a cab outside.

Mozzie awaits Peter and Neal in Neal's apartment and regrets not being there for dinner because it would have been a fascinating meeting of the minds. Neal takes a book to show them the bill he saw on the plate. It was a flexographic for the $100 from 1991. Unlike newer bank notes, it has fewer security features, but is still a legal currency. Peter asks what else Ford need to make bills, and Neal tells him he will need some reading materials from the U.S. treasury.

After examining the material from the U.S. treasury, Neal confirms the plate is the real deal. He adds that Ford still needs the right press, cutter, inks and paper and Peter suspects Ganz pulled a crew together to steal these things. Diana shows up to tell them they were able to grab Ford when he left Ganz's place before anyone saw them.

Neal and Peter question Ford. He reveals that Byron stole that plate from him many years ago to stop him from using it. He told Ganz about the plate in exchange for protection while their were cell mates. Neal tells Ford to his face everything he told June was a lie, but Ford claims he only took the plate to protect June from Ganz. Peter asks about Ganz's next move and Ford answers he told him what else he needed. Before they end the interrogation, Neal asks Ford from one professional to another why he doesn't have any prints and Ford reveals he scrubs his fingers with a pumice stone every morning.

Neal and Peter discuss Ford's statement and while Neal believes him, Peter doubts he came back to protect June, but to look for that last big score. To shut the operation down, Peter suggests to send in Neal and Ford to get Ganz and his crew to confess to a premeditated crime on tape.

In a surveillance van, Peter informs Neal and Ford that the FBI took Ganz's forger out of the play so Ford can introduce Neal to replace the forger. Then Jones gives Ford a watch containing a one way radio and GPS.

Neal and Ford go in and tell their cover story. To validate Neal's competence, Ganz hands him a few IDs to find out which one is the fake. Neal impresses Ganz when he identifies all of them as fakes. Neal wants to see the equipment, but Ganz tells him they have all he will need and adds he will contact them sometime that week. However, Ford makes a huge mistakes when he reveals he knows that the previous forger was busted for a phony baseball, a detail Ganz didn't tell him. Peter who is listening to the conversation tells his team to gear up, but Neal is able to save the day. He lies he called the feds because he learned from Ford about the job and wanted in. Ford adds he didn't want a half-wit to be on a job that important. Ganz kicks Ford to the sidelines and let's Neal in.

Back at the office, Peter takes Neal's tracking anklet to hold on to it for a while because Ganz had killed Neal if he had seen it. They figure Ganz still needs ink, paper or both. When Neal takes a look at the booking slip from the forger, he notices two different inks on the paper, so he already mixed the ink.

The next morning, Diana has good news for Peter and Neal. One of the aliases Neal remembered from the fake IDs showed up. He is staying near the BCU which provides the paper stock for the bureau of printing and engraving. So they have found the source where Ganz is planning on getting the paper he needs.

Neal meets Mozzie at June's place who came for June and his book club. Neal reveals that Ford is now working with them which Mozzie calls a shame. Neal believes Byron had it better because he chose a life with June and a home. And he hid the plate instead of using it. He resisted the temptation, but Ford can't, and Neal adds only few of them can.

Meanwhile, Peter learns that Ganz and Ford slipped their surveillance and that the paper is in transit. He sends someone to Neal's place, but they are too late. Ganz already picked up Neal. When Peter calls Neal to warn him, he only reaches Mozzie who tells him he is too late.

Ganz, his crew and Neal wait in a car for the truck with the paper to hit it en route. They need Neal to identify the archived paper. Before the FBI can find them, the heist goes down and they get away with the paper.

Soon later, Diana informs Peter that the hit went down and Neal was probably on the crew, but none of them matched Ford's description. Peter suspects Ford is up to something, otherwise he wouldn't run from them.

At the place where Ganz brought the equipment, Ford prepares a briefcase with newspaper cut to the size of bills. Ganz brings Neal in who asks Ford "one last score, Ford?" Ganz waves his gun and suggests Ford and Neal get started.

Peter meets Mozzie who learned that Ford let the word about a potential job slip so someone else would do it for him. Peter asks Mozzie where he would hide if he was Ford, and Moz tells him it would be a place he was never caught, but his tracks would be well covered as well. Peter remembers Ford's reaction to the photo album. They look through the album again and stop at the one with the Lenox Lounge. Mozzie remembers that June mentioned it before. Byron run the back room about 25 years ago.

Ford closes another briefcase filled with the money they printed when they suddenly hear sirens. When Ganz goes to the window to take a look, Ford switches the briefcase with the one he stuffed with newspaper. He then joins Ganz at the window who wants to know why there is police outside when Ford said the place was clean. Meanwhile, Neal uses the distraction to switch the briefcases again just in time before Ganz pulls his gun and forces Ford to give him the case. Ganz leaves through a backdoor. Ford takes the other briefcase and prepares to leave as well. Neal asks him about the switch, and Ford reveals he stuffed one with newspaper. Neal figures Ford called the cops himself who adds he thought he saw a cat stuck in a tree. Neal realizes Ford planned the whole thing from the start when he gave Neal the coin with Ganz's print. He also risked June's life. Once again, sirens come closer which surprises Ford, and Neal notes someone is really worried about that cat.

Meanwhile, Ganz leaves the building, Diana already awaits him. Peter opens the briefcase and finds the false money. Inside the building, Ford takes a hidden gun and wants to go, but Neal tries to give him another option. He offers Ford to back his story and to become a cooperating witness and to take June dancing. The other option would be to take the case and to run as long as he can. Ford asks Neal to tell June he's sorry, then he leaves.

Before Peter and his team storm the building, Neal opens the door for them. Neal tells Peter which direction Ford went, but adds that the place has many exits. Peter tells Neal they arrested Ganz and that Diana and Jones are pickung up the rest of the crew.

Outside, Ford opens the briefcase and has to realize he walks away with nothing because it's filled with newspaper.

Neal visits June, but she already knows. She tells him she knew what kind of man Ford was, but when Neal wants to know why she let him in, she answers she wanted to remember what Byron and she had and to dance again. So he approaches her and asks her for a dance.

Mozzie meets Neal outside to tell him he will have a working prototype for their antenna soon, but Neal isn't listening. He asks Mozzie if he has ever thought about how it will end, big score or big house. Neal adds Byron found a third option, true love, but Mozzie is a cynic and calls it the biggest con of all. He starts "old con men never die," and Neal finishes "their smiles just fade away." Mozzie asks if Neal got rid of the printing plate, but Neal admits it may have found its way back inside the table just in case for a rainy day.

When Peter discovers the connection between Neal and the man behind Kate's death, the two make a deal. For one night, Peter offers full immunity in exchange for Neal's story.

Full Recap
After finding out Vincent Adler wants the music box, Peter goes over Adler's file. A few years ago, billionaire Adler ran a huge Ponzi scheme and disappeared with a billion dollars. When he finds Neal with Adler in one of the pictures, he visits Neal to confront him about it. Neal admits he knew Adler, but hesitates to go into details. Peter figures Neal would have to admit to a few crimes Peter doesn't know about, so he makes Neal a deal to give him full immunity for everything Neal tells him that night. Neal agrees and shows Peter the fractal Mozzie built using the equation inside the music box. He tells Peter he saw a fractal just like it in Adler's office when he worked for him. He adds they've got to start with Mozzie.

Eight years ago, Neal meets Mozzie who is conning people with the help of another grifter using Follow the lady. Neal places a $500 bet and much to Mozzie's and his partner's surprise, Neal finds the right playing card Queen of Hearts. When he is gone with the money, Mozzie turns the playing card and finds out that the back is colored differently and pays a young boy to find out where Neal lives. Soon later, he visits Neal to look for a new partner. Mozzie who has been running street cons since he was a kid in Detroit, wants to leave the street hustle. Neal shows Mozzie a bond forgery who recognizes Neal's talent. He then tells Neal about his plan to run a long con on Vincent Adler.

Back in Neal's apartment, Peter reveals these bonds were the first time he came across Neal who asks him to tell about it.

Eight years ago, someone throws the bond forgery case file on Peter's desktop. He offers his partner the case who passes. When Peter looks at the forgeries, he calls it quality work and adds the forger has a future.

Back in the apartment, Neal wants to know the nickname the Bureau gave him. At first, Peter hesitates to tell him, but Neal refuses to go on with his own story, so Peter gives in and tells Neal it was James Bonds.

Neal continues his story about how he met Adler. To run their con, Mozzie and Neal stake out Vincent Adler, trying to find out everything there is to know about Adler. Mozzie found out that Adler takes most of his profits to an account in the Caymans every six months. He wants to reroute the next wire transfer and needs Neal to get the account number and the password. With five months left till the next transfer, Mozzie wants Neal to use a charity dinner to charm Adler. To pay the five grand for a plate at that dinner, Mozzie suggests to cash in a few more of his bonds.

Peter interrupts Neal to tell him that was a big mistake. Neal agrees it was a calculated risk, but worth it for the con they wanted to run on Adler. However, cashing the bonds in gave the FBI a first visual on Neal.

Back in Neal's story, Neal comes out of the bank where he cashed in his forgeries and shows Mozzie the money. The teller even put a lolly into the bag. Coincidentally, Peter stands near them and talks to the bank manager to warn her about the bond forgeries. Mozzie spots Peter and recognizes him as FBI agent. He makes Neal aware of Peter and wants them to go, but Neal who overheard Peter saying that he is a good forger approaches Peter. Neal pretends to be a worried customer, and Peter tells him they are looking for counterfeit bonds. Neal answers he has some bonds at home and asks how he could tell that they are not real. Peter replies he is sure they are fine, so Neal thanks him for the hard work and gives him the lolly from the bank teller.

Soon later, Mozzie tells Neal how dangerous his move was, but Neal disagrees because they found out that they can't cash in more bonds and the name of the FBI agent working the case. They move on to prepare their con on Adler and Neal picks a name he wants to use. He chooses Nicholas Halden when he finds a flyer from Halden legal services. Meanwhile, Mozzie fills wine into an empty bottle that once held $800 worth of wine and gives Neal a suit Mozzie got from his cleaner.

Neal attends the dinner party and uses the bottle of wine to introduce himself to Adler. He tries to start a conversation with Adler about his work, but Adler soon tells him to enjoy the party and leaves him. Later, Neal tries another approach by admiring Adler's art collection. He reveals art is his passion, so Adler introduces him to his assistant, Kate Moreau. Kate soon realizes that Neal is trying to cozy up to her boss. He asks for advice and learns that he has to get a seat near Adler. Before the dinner starts, Neal swaps the place cards, and takes the seat next to Adler who realizes at once what happened, but gives Neal time before the salad courses arrives to tell him what he wants. Neal warns Adler about a deal Adler is about to make because someone else is already buying out that company. In return he asks for a place in Adler's team.

Back in the present, Neal tells Peter Adler didn't make the deal and the company was bought out, so Neal got to work for Adler. His job was to know everything about the people Adler dealt with and rooting out the enemies. Peter wants to know if Kate and Neal got together back then, but Kate had a boyfriend at that time. When he tried to ask her out, she told him about her plans to move to Chicago with her boyfriend.

While Neal works for Adler, he finds out that someone is looking into Adler's acquisitions. It's Alex Hunter. He arranges a meeting with Adler so he can question Alex. He wants to know who asked her to look into his private records and what she was looking for. She tells him she heard rumors about big discoveries he made, and Adler let's her go. Adler writes Neal a bonus check, but Neal invests the money into Adler's company because he didn't know it was a scam.

When Neal leaves Adler, Alex is already waiting for him and congratulates him for catching her. He asks what she wants and she asks for a drink. Later, after the two had sex, Alex tells Neal to his face that she recognized him as a fellow grifter and that she was looking for a music box, but Adler doesn't have it. She tells Neal she will send him a flower if she needs his help getting the music box, then she disappears.

On the day Kate leaves for Chicago, Neal feels bad and wants to take a sick day, but Mozzie convinces him that every day counts and that they need the password. It knocks on Neal's door and Neal is surprised to see Kate. She tells him it is a big step, but in the wrong direction because Neal is in New York.

Back in the present, Peter sums up that Neal had it all at that time. Neal adds he was eating the best food, wearing the best suits and drinking the best wine, but the expiration date of their long con was getting closer.Neal continues his story. With only a few more days left till the transfer takes place and still no password, Mozzie fears that Neal doesn't want to go through with their con anymore. He reminds Neal that none of them, neither Kate nor Adler, know his real name and they care about someone who does not exist. He adds that the FBI is asking around and they got a sketch of Neal. They have to finish the job to move on.

Soon later, Adler gives Neal a custom suit which is worth $10,000. Neal hesitates to accept the suit, but Adler tells him to dress as the man he wants to be. He asks him about Kate, and Neal reveals that there are things he hasn't told her about. Adler tells him not to worry about it and adds that the things people try to hide are obvious to the people around. Neal uses the moment to tell Adler about an irregularity in Adler's account in the Caymans, just when he discovers a newspaper on Adler's desk that features his sketch. He asks to look into the account details and while Adler is writing down the password, Neal uses a hat that lies on the desk aswell to cover his sketch. When Adler has left him, Neal takes the newspaper and the hat to meet Kate.

He meets Kate in a park, but tells her he can't stay because of a commitment he made. However, she convinces him otherwise.

Neal tells Mozzie he didn't get the password. Mozzie realizes Neal's love for Kate is the reason. He announces that love is a temporary madness and that they will get them the next time.

Soon later, Neal and Kate learn from a news report that Vincent Adler and hundreds of million of dollars have disappeared. At the FBI, Peter is surprised as anyone else. He meets Clinton Jones who heard about Peter's plan to put together a special white collar task force and asks for a spot.

Neal finds out that there is only a dollar left in Adler's account and the password an anagram for "nice try Neal." Kate and Neal are left with no job and no money. Neal promises to get it all back and tells Kate the truth about him.

Mozzie, Kate and Neal build a crew and start a new con. Mozzie tries to steal a package with a valuable piece of art from a delivery guy, but Kate and Neal, dressed as cops, catch him. They write the delivery guy a receipt and take the package.

Soon later, Neal makes a mistake. He tries to persuade Kate to go to Copenhagen with him, but neglects to add he wants to get the music box with Alex. Kate sees through his lie to leave the range of the FBI for a while and she is mad he tried to con her.

Back in the present, Peter figures Neal went without Kate. Neal adds that the job fell apart because it was a three man job, and Laex ended up in a hospital. When he returned, Kate had disappeared and he started big cons to get her attention.

After Neal's return from Europe, Peter's special white collar task force try to get him. Peter asks a young agent, Diana, what she would do to catch Neal and she suggests to use his girlfriend. Peter asks why Neal hasn't met with Kate since they found her, and then he figures Neal doesn't know where she is.

Mozzie visits Neal in his apartment to tell him about some information that surfaced on the street. It's Kate's location, but he adds that the information comes from a unreliable source and that it feels like a trap. However, Neal is desperate to find Kate and doesn't care.

That afternoon, Neal finds Kate in the storage facility like Mozzie said. Neal admits that he lied to her about a lot of things, but never about loving her. She answers she knows and they kiss. She wants to know how he found her, and he tells her that Mozzie heard she was fencing stamps, but she quit dealing stamps. They realize it's a trap, but the police is already coming in. Peter arrests Neal who thanks him for reuniting him with Kate.

Back in the present, Neal closes his story because Peter knows the rest of it already. They need to find Adler and they already know what he wants most, the fractal. Meanwhile, Peter has found out that Alex visited Neal that day because she left an origami crane behind. Neal tells Peter Alex thinks it's a fractal antenna and that the shape corresponds to a specific frequency from an emergency beacon. They will just have to build a real antenna, hook it to a radio and it will lead them to something that disappeared in the 1940s and which was worth killing two people for Adler.

Hawaii Five-0 - Season 1, Episode 18 - Loa Aloha

 Hawaii Five-0 - Loa Aloha

Five-0 must find a bomber out for revenge before he can set more bombs and kill more people. Danny's brother Matt is in town but a family reunion isn't the reason.

Full Recap
In the Kawailoa Forest Reserve, people are having fun gliding through the air on a rope pulley. A man asks his daughter how she talked him into it, and she tells him he has to do something for his sixtieth birthday. As she gets strapped in and pushes off the man gets a call. The caller knows he's Judge Kamalei and notes his daughter's quite an adventurer. He asks what the last thing he said to her was before she left the platform and hopes he said goodbye. As he's talking, the rope snaps and the judge's daughter falls straight down into the forest.

Danny is getting out of an elevator with Grace and asks if she's excited to see her Uncle Matt. She is and adds he's the coolest ever and Danny tells he thought himself to be the coolest ever. Grace knocks on the door of a hotel room and a voice on the other side tells her to come in. They go in and don't see anyone but a large pile of gifts on a table. Danny's younger brother Matt pops up from behind it and gives Grace a hug. He then hugs Danny who tells him it's been too long as he's already been in Hawaii for a year. Matt tells him he can't believe he moved to Hawaii and Danny looks at Grace and says it was worth it. Matt asks how things are with Rachel and Danny leads him away from Grace and says they are better and he and Rachel can have civil conversations. He asks what Matt is doing in Hawaii and Matt insists he's just there for fun and adds Danny is a spoil sport with a lack of adventurous spirit. Danny gets a call and tells Matt he has to go to work and opts to take Grace back to Rachel's, but Matt offers to watch her. This surprises Danny but Matt insists they can hang out for the day and meet Danny for dinner.

Steve is on the platform in the reserve and calls Chin and tells him they need to expand the grid search to a half mile radius as he found the end of the zipline is charred and thinks it was an explosive. He also found evidence of an electronic trigger. He tells Chin for someone to blow the zipline out, they would've had to have been close. On the ground, Chin takes a picture of tire tread marks. Kono asks Judge Kamalei what he remembers about the call. Judge Kamalei says it was from an unknown number and he had a thin, raspy voice he didn't recognize, but the caller knew who he was. He thinks the caller was watching them, as one minute his daughter was waving goodbye, and then... he goes to collect himself. Kono notes he's single father with one kid and Danny adds he lost all the family he has. Kono asks if he thinks the daughter was a target or collateral damage. Danny thinks the phone call makes her the target and the killer was taunting him. Danny orders a full protective detail on the judge as the killer's probably not done.

At headquarters, Chin shows them the pictures of the tire tracks he found in an area that's off limits to vehicles and they're recent and well within sight of the platform. They look to be from an SUV or a light pick-up truck. Danny couldn't trace the call made to the judge, but the fragments Steve found were from an RF receiver usually found in walkie-talkies or remote control cars. Kono has been trying to find the judge's thread file, which are any written or verbal threats against him. So they're looking for someone male, violent and has an ax to grind. Chin adds anyone who puts away hardened criminals will have a deep suspect pool. Upon seeing how deep, Steve says they have to narrow it down and buff up the judge's security detail so they'll be ready when the killer comes back for the judge.

Steve has made sure the judge is secure and Danny and Kono are going to see the prosecutor tomorrow. In the meantime, Steve is going with Danny to pick up Grace, much to Danny's confusion. Steve is curious about Danny's brother and Danny warns him he has quite the personality...disorder. They see Matt with Grace and Rachel and Matt waves them over. Danny asks Rachel why she's there and Matt tells Danny he invited her as it's been a long time since they've all been together. Danny introduces Steve to Matt and Rachel asks if Danny's staying. Danny asks where Stan is, but he's away on business as usual. Steve tells him to stay but he'll leave but Matt invites him to stay as well. Danny and Steve pull up chairs to the table.
They are there long enough the sun sets and they're all still sitting around the table. Danny and Matt are telling stories while a guy at the bar keeps a wary eye on them. Grace has fallen asleep and Danny mutters to Steve that the two guys at the bar, one of them came out of Matt's room in a waiter's uniform and the two guys are getting up, so Steve and Danny do as well. They go after the men and catch up with them in the lobby. They both have FBI badges and Danny asks what he wants with Matt and the agent tells him it's an active investigation. Steve whips out his phone and calls the governor, but the agents think he's bluffing. Steve hands the phone over to him and he still doesn't believe it, but the governor yells at him and he apologizes and hangs up. He then tells Danny Matt is being accused of defrauding his investors out of millions of dollars. Danny tells them his brother runs a hedge fund and tells them they're wrong. The agent tells him it's their job to make sure he doesn't go overseas before he gets indicted. He hands Danny a card and adds they'll prosecute him for obstruction if he says anything to his brother. The agents walk away and Danny begins to pace. He tells Steve his brother may be a lot of things, but a criminal isn't one of them. Steve says he could've been set up and Danny tells him after he and Rachel split, he started staying at a motel and Matt would come over every night. They would talk and drink and Matt would go to work the next morning and did this every day for six months. He adds he wouldn't have gotten through it if not for Matt and he didn't do this. Steve believes him but tells him he has to talk to his brother, family comes first.

Kono introduces Steve to deputy prosecutor James Chen. Chen gives Steve Kamalei's threat file and tells him Kamalei is what's known as a hanging judge, he's put away a lot of violent offenders and not many get back out. Steve asks if any stand out and Chen tells him a Drew Pirizzi fits the bill. He rigged his ex's house to burn down after she dumped him. He also attacked the judge in open court and it took a bailiff and two armed guards to restrain him. And he got parole two weeks ago. Chen tells them Pirizzi is staying at an old girlfriend in the Wahiawa apartment complex.

Steve and Chin are on both sides of the apartment door. Chen is saying goodbye to his son as he gets into his car. Chen then gets a call from the same person who called the judge and has a similar conversation to the one he had with the judge. Chen begs him not to do it and the caller says he hopes he said goodbye as Chin and Steve burst in on Pirizzi in bed with his girlfriend, and Chen watches his son's car burst into flames.

At the crime scene, Steve picks up a piece of rubble. Chin remarks it couldn't have been Pirizzi as they were with him when the bomb went off and the remote detonate trigger, the bomber had to have been close by. Kono has got a bag full of cameras and cell phones from tourists who were around when the bomb went off. Steve adds now they have to look at cases with Chen and Kamalei. Kono wonders if it's about revenge, why not go after them, but target their kids?

Matt is on the phone in his hotel room when Danny comes in. He's surprised to see Danny and Danny asks if he's doing business. Matt tells him it's a new client who lives on the north shore and Danny points out he's on vacation and asks about the new client. Matt tells him his current clients told the new clients about him and as he talks, Danny takes a picture of a card that reads "Waioleka Charters" on his coffee table. Matt comes back in the room and asks why he's asking so many questions. He tells Danny he has meet the new client right now and they can hang later.

Kono cross referenced Kamalei's threat file with cases both he and Chen had in common, focusing on violent offenders and parolees. When she didn't find any matches, she focused on the cameras and cell phones she collected at the scene of the crime. Several tourists took pictures right before or after the explosion at different angles. Steve clarifies the killer might be in one of the photos and Kono adds with the tire prints they're looking for an SUV. Steve spots a red SUV in one picture and when Kono blows it up, he sees the wheel wells are all muddy and the tire matches the treads found in the forest. Kono didn't get a shot of the plates, but sees what could be a rental tag on the bumper. Steve gets a call from Danny who tells him he's going to be a while. Steve asks what Danny's going to do and doesn't believe Danny when he answers nothing. Steve tells him not to go anywhere and he'll be there soon.

Chin shows a picture of a piece of rubble to a girl in a shop and asks if she sold any lately. She tells him a haole came in last week and bought three and he had a dark hair and a goatee. He calls Kono and fills her in and tells her the remote control planes have a range of a 1000 feet and Kono says it looks like they have one less target.

In Kahala neighborhood, Danny and Steve are tailing Matt. Danny tells Steve to slow down but Steve tells him he wouldn't recognize the truck and they stop when Matt pulls in a driveway. Danny calls the number off the card on Matt's table and finds Matt doesn't have a listing but they fly out of a Hawaiian airport. Danny puts headphones on and holds up a funnel and laments it's sick he's doing this as Matt knocks on the door. He can hear him now and watches as a man frisks Matt and another man invites him in. There is some static and Danny loses the sound. Steve asks what's going on and Danny tells him Matt told him he was going to a business meeting but gets patted down before a business meeting? Steve answers, someone who doesn't want to get caught.

Danny goes to the hotel where he finds Rachel, Grace and Matt. Danny asks Matt how his meeting went and he tells him it went really well and Rachel picks up on a vibe and her and Grace get up. Grace heads out to the water, but Rachel hangs back and listens to Danny ask Matt if he helps the rich get out of their taxes. Matt tells him he'd like to help get everyone out of their taxes, not just the rich. Matt tells Danny he's kidding and to lighten up. Grace calls to him and he runs out and joins her in the water. Rachel sits down next to Danny and asks what's going on. Danny tries to brush it off but she can see through it and asks what's wrong. Danny looks out at Matt and Grace in the water and tells Rachel not to tell anyone, but the FBI is after Matt. Rachel asks if Danny believes he's guilty and Danny tells her he doesn't want to and he hasn't talked to Matt about it. Rachel tells him he needs to as Grace and Matt wave from the water.
In Matt's hotel room, Danny tells Matt he needs to talk to him about something. Matt thinks it's about Rachel and adds he knew Danny still had feelings for her when he saw them at dinner. Danny tells him it's not about Rachel and asks what's going on with Matt. Matt says nothing and asks why and Danny brings up the indictment. Matt goes on the defensive and Danny starts yelling at him for lying and Matt admits he took the money. Danny asks what he was thinking and now their parents and sisters will be involved. Matt tells him he made a mistake and adds Danny likes to be the guy people think does everything right, but he's made mistakes. Danny asks why, and Matt admits he lost $58 million in one day. He had to cover it, so he took some money from his other clients. He was hoping if he could cover his tracks, no one would know. Danny asks why he didn't come to him and Matt points out he's a cop and Danny retorts he's his brother first and he'd help him. Matt laments he thought about turning himself in but he couldn't. Danny asks why he came to Hawaii and Matt admits it was to cut another deal and try and buy his way out, but it fell through. Danny tells him they are going to New York and talking to the FBI and Matt will fess up to everything, and most likely go to jail. But Danny promises to talk to the district attorney and they'll get through it together. Matt says this will kill their parents, and Danny tells him to pack a bag and he'll be back in a couple hours.

Kono has cross checked red SUVs with cases involving Chen and Kamalei and found one match, a man named Travis Roan. He used to work on a construction site and spent years in a Wyoming prison for aggravate assault. Steve is confused, but Kono says his son was tried in Hawaii. Thomas Roan got 18 months for a DUI when he got stabbed in a mess hall fight and died in prison ten days ago. Chen and Kamalei were on his case, meaning Roan is looking for payback for his dead son. Kono tried to find another target, but all Kamalei remembered about the case was the flood of appeals that came after the verdict. The appeals came from Thomas's mom.

Steve and Chin go see Elizabeth Roan and fill her in on everything and Steve asks if she knows where Travis is. She thought he was back in Wyoming and tells them he was only in town for Thomas's funeral. She tells them Thomas couldn't wait to get out of Wyoming and thought of Hawaii as paradise, but got pulled over for a DUI his first semester. The judge and prosecutor had to make an example of him because it was the third DUI that week in Waikiki. Thomas was also underage and hit a fancy car, so he got eighteen months. Elizabeth moved down to Hawaii to appeal and her ex-husband took that hard as they wouldn't let him visit his son. She adds Thomas was only thirteen when his dad went to jail, and they wrote letters but hadn't seen each other since. Steve asks if there was anyone else Travis blamed for Thomas's death, but Elizabeth says no, the thing he kept saying at the funeral was he never got to say goodbye. Steve asks where Travis was staying.

Steve and Chin burst into the Kuhio beach motel but the room is empty. Steve notes the sink is wet and he was just here and shaved. Chin finds a photo of Thomas and letters from Thomas to his dad on the table. Steve looks under the bed and finds the airplane kits with one remote missing. In the letters, Chin finds they're always blaming someone named Meachum who convinced him to take the deal who was his lawyer.

Steve tells Danny Travis is after Brian Meachum, the public defender's kid and warns Danny to be careful, as Travis is unstable and carrying explosives.

At the middle school, Brian Meachum is looking for his backpack when Travis hands it to him. He says someone must be messing with him and to be sure to double check his homework.
Kono tells Steve she hasn't gotten ahold of Diane Meachum yet, and Steve tells her the planes have a range of 1000 feet so if she finds them, Travis can't be too far away. In the parking lot, Brian runs by Travis sitting in the red SUV. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out his cell phone. Brian gets into his mother's car right as her phone goes off. She answers it and Steve tells her to get out of the car and not to touch anything. They get out of the car and Kono hurries them away while Danny goes up to the window and faces Travis. Travis says Brian's only thirteen just like Thomas was when he got locked up. He reaches for the remote. He says Thomas is gone and he starts to cry. Danny grabs the remote and gets Travis out of the car.
Steve joins Danny sitting on the curb. Danny says he has to get back to his brother, who was going to run. Steve tells him he's sorry and offers a ride to the airport.

Night has fallen and Danny and Steve are approaching Matt's hotel room when they hear people saying he's not there. They get out their guns and go in and find the FBI there and the agent from before tells them to stand down. The agent asks Danny where Matt is and adds the phone's dead and he switched cars and he tipped them off before the deal went down. Steve asks what he's talking about and the agent shows him a video of Matt making a deal with the leader of cartel to launder his drug money. The meet was supposed to go down today and they were going to take him down when he had the money. The agent asks Danny, but Danny insists he doesn't know where he is. Steve tells Danny to tell the agent what he told him. He gives the agent a false location and the FBI leaves. Danny thanks Steve and heads out.

In his car, Danny gets Matt's voicemail. He pulls up and sees Matt about to get on a plane. He calls his name and brandishes his gun. Matt asks if he's going to shoot him and Danny asks what's the matter with him. Matt tells him he had no choice and Danny retorts he gave him a choice and Matt tells him it's not that simple and they'e not kids anymore. Danny tells him to turn himself in and Matt tells him he wouldn't survive prison, he's not strong enough, he's not Danny. Danny asks if it's getaway money, and Matt tells him he was trying to fix things. Danny asks if he's going to fly off and forget about him and Grace. They're his family. Matt tells him this ends one of two ways; Danny either shoots him or says goodbye. The brothers stare at each other until Danny puts down his gun. He watches forlorn as his brother gets on the plane and looks back at him. He goes inside and the door to the plane closes. Danny watches as the plane takes off into the night sky.

Rachel answers the door and finds Danny on her front step. Danny is on the verge of tears and tells her Matt's gone. He lost him. Rachel hugs him tightly.
